COPENHAGEN (Wired Staff Writer) - A team of researchers in Denmark has determined that the contributors to the website, TheSpoof.com, are not writers at all.
Instead, the alleged online profiles and inputs are being created by a yellow slime mould that is light-sensitive. Apparently the organism is sitting atop a computer keyboard. As it moves away from stimuli (for example, exposure to sunlight) it appears to produce keystrokes that give the appearance of satirical news stories.
Military experts are extremely interested in the potential future uses of this capability. Yellow slime mould, while slow, can travel a distance of several feet per day.
