HOUSTON - NASA Spokesperson Trent Timmelfarb has just informed the various news organizations that due to public opinion NASA will be considering renaming the Martian land rover Curiosity in honor of Nelson Mandela.
Timmelfarb said that President Mandela was a big fan of the NASA space program and once even went up on a two hour space shuttle ride.
The South African president replied that it was about as much fun as a 12-minute lap dance he once received from a pole dancer in Stockholm, Sweden back in 1989.
President Obama when told of the name change proposal stated that he thought it was a great idea and he added that the United States would donate $2.3 million to help cover the cost of all of the necessary name change details.
SIDENOTE: President Obama has told the White House press corps that he is seriously thinking about changing the name of The Abraham Lincoln Bedroom to The Nelson Mandela Bedroom.
