A woman vice president for Joe Biden? The first pick should be Judy Dench. She was excellent as 007’s boss, and let Ralph Fiennes have it with both barrels. However, she isn’t a US citizen or in politics, although she looks presidential.
Biden indicated he might pick one of the women who ran for president, though they withdrew.
Senator Kirsten Gellibrand? A great talker, but drummed Senator Al Franken out of the Senate because of a selfie.
Senator Amy Klobuchar? Smart, experienced, no jazz.
Senator Elizabeth Warren? Smart, limber, a good bet, and she took issue with a then-student Joe Kennedy on his first day of a law school class. Today he’s a Congressman from Massachusetts, and both are friends.
Senator Kamala Harris? She has everything. A former Attorney General of California seems like for three months. A former District Attorney of San Francisco looks like for another three months. She has jazz, a great smile, but the sale of a tee-shirt about bussing students following the first debate was contrived and tackie.
Congresswoman Katie Porter wasn’t a candidate for president, but is outstanding.
Stacey Abrams is also an excellent possibility.
Hillary Clinton? The Russians flipped votes on election night. James Comey's announcement to re-open the email investigation was as bad as flipping votes. The email thing and Benghazi were paper tigers. Hillary still won the popular vote, and should have fought like hell for what was legally her win. Instead, Hillary silently sought refuge in the woods.
And look where Trump's world is today.
Joe Biden doesn’t have to pick a woman, because it’s about time for a woman vice president. It has to be the right candidate.
Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York spoke about the coronavirus without notes or a teleprompter, extemporaneously for nearly thirty minutes on St. Patrick’s Day. Never using salad words, he spoke from experience about the practical management of this virus, which was similar to 9/11, this nation’s generous history, recent pointless and wasteful wars, the future, and the failure of leadership from Trump's White House.
Andrew Cuomo should be Joe Biden's vice-president.
