How many Ukrainians were killed fighting the invading Russian forces? While Trump and his cronies played blackmail/war games, they attempted to get Ukrainian President Zelensky to announce an investigation into Joe Biden.
The Republican Senators think, “Ukrainians killed? So what?”
Missiles for an ally, in exchange for a criminal investigation? No, just the announcement for Trump’s smear campaign. Republican Senators say, "So what?”
“So what?” Are Republican Senators okay with this?
Yep! You betcha! Senate Republicans are ready to vote before television cameras, with the whole world watching, that they don’t care about the number of allies who died during Trump’s scheming. The Senate Republicans believe this is an okay example of Democracy. However, they’re trembling in their collective shoes and high heels.
Why the trembling?
Lordy, lord, we’re afraid of a tweet from that guy who has to rely on spell-check!
At least Nixon could spell, and respected the Constitution.
Adam Schiff told the truth with each word while defending the Constitution.
Mitch McConnell’s voice, denying the testimony of witnesses, smacks of old boy chicanery, ignoring the Constitution, the nation’s history, and what thousands and thousands of men and women have sacrificed and died for since 1776. McConnell’s stench will follow him in the pages of history long after the impeached TV host is a footnote.
What if, after 9/11, all our allies blackmailed the US saying they would not assist tracking down Osama bin Laden or fight al-Qaeda, unless the US slandered one of their political opponents?
Remember the panic after 9/11, and the smoldering World Trade Center buildings? Airplanes were grounded and turned back in mid-flight. Ukraine was smoldering when Trump denied releasing the military aid appropriated by Congress, and Russians shot down a passenger plane over Ukraine.
Ukrainians were in a panic, but they would not succumb to blackmail. Over three thousand perished on 9/11. More than 13,000 Ukrainians have died fighting the invading Russian forces. So much for Trump's pro-life stance.
Republican Senators think that’s okay. As Senator Murkowski said, “It’s not important enough to remove a president.”
Or to hear testimony from witnesses?
