Smile! You're on candid camera, and we're sick of you!

I dunno. Maybe it's just me. But it seems that photo-ops are increasingly boring these days. Same old, same old. Rarely do I see a unique one. Here are a few of the exceedingly boring variety that especially annoy me:

-- At groundbreaking ceremonies, why do we have to be treated to photos of a bunch of politicians wearing hardhats and smilingly lifting heavy shovels? I mean really. Who are they kidding? For the most part, these are folks who have rarely done a day of physical labor in their lives. What a crock!

-- Then there are the newly signed professional athletes posing at their first team press conference. They are usually wearing team hats and holding up team t-shirts. My first thought is: How long will the honeymoon last? And y'know what? Often it's not long. When it comes time for these athletes to get the boot, I wonder if they get to keep their shirts and hats........

-- And don't forget those selfies. Like it or not, we get to see boobs, butts, baby bumps. And that's only the beginning. Nothing is off limits. We are 'treated' to all of it.

Where is decorum, decency, originality? Sadly, gone forever I fear.
