image for A Soliloquy by the GOP
To end, or not to end, that's the conundrum

To end, or not to end, that's the conundrum:
Whether 'tis Nobler for the Party to suffer
The Slings and Insults of outrageous Trump,
Or to take Aim against his rowdy rabble,
And by opposing end him: to cry, to weep
No more! And by this Creep, to say we end
The Headache, and the Xenophobia
Our Party's heir to? 'Tis a conflagration
We cannot now avoid. To cry, to weep,
To weep, perchance to die; aye, there's the rub,
For in our Party's death, what stench may come,
When we have shuffled off this angry roil,
Must give us pause. There's the defect
That makes Calamity of angry voters:
For who would bear the Lies and Scorns of Trump,
The Aggressor's wrath, the small Trump's Contumely,
The pangs of Narcissism , the Law's delay,
The insolence of Donald, and the Spurns
That we throw at him every single day,
When he himself might now his campaign end
And save the GOP? How much more to bear?
To grunt and sweat through this weary campaign,
But that the dread of something after it,
Another stinging loss, from whose ashes
Our Party can't return, stifles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have,
Than risk in Cleveland a brokered Convention!
Thus Expedience makes Cowards of us all,
And thus the Native hue of Resolution
Is sicklied o'er, with the pale cast of Trump,
And hopes of some day winning back the White House,
Like moderate Republicans, now lie
Amid the ashes of the Tea Party.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
