Extract: Neil Entwistle, 32, convicted of murdering his wife and baby daughter at their US home has launched a formal appeal against his conviction.
Entwistle, a former IT consultant from Kilton, Worksop, formally filed an appeal yesterday after arguing he should receive a fresh trial because police searched his home without a warrant when they came to check on his family.
Comment: And what appeal did his wife and child have? Bring back capital punishment I say!

Extract: Selina Stacey has severe arthritis and cannot walk far. The scooter, which she had had for just six months, was set on fire outside her home in The Meadows sometime on the night of Sunday, March 25, or the next morning.
Miss Stacey, 45, said: "I have just been stuck in the house and I don't know what to do with myself. It was my taxi, it was my everything. I feel like it was my lifeline. I have been trying to think about why people would do such an evil thing to disabled people."
Miss Stacey, of Beardsley Gardens, said the first she knew about the fire was when a friend texted her.
She said the scooter was completely destroyed and was taken away as scrap.
"I just broke down when I saw it," she said. "It is just wrong to pick on people like that."
Comment: Scum kids like these who are suspected of carrying out this horrible crime, are the future of Britain - it makes me sad, angry and despondent... sick!

Extract: Attempts to evict Nottingham's Occupy protesters have stalled again after a judge ruled that the case should be heard at trial.
The cluster of tents sprang up in October last year.
While many similar encampments around the country have since disbanded, the Old Market Square campaigners have stayed put for almost six months.
Initially Nottingham City Council claimed it had no plans to intervene but later changed its stance.
How many of the tents are inhabited and who are the protesters?

Extract: Toby Blythe was rushed to intensive care at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre after he was stabbed in the head, neck and both sides of his lower torso.
Horrified neighbours alerted police after spotting the bloodied, sobbing youngster outside a house in Frederick Street, Mansfield, Nottingham, at about 1.30pm on Easter Monday.
Comment: So very sad! I like the look the WPC next to the only Nottingham Police Scientific Support vehicle they have, is giving the photographer.
Update: Steve Frogg, of Frederick Street, Mansfield, will appear at Mansfield Magistrates Court Thursday

"Traders' shock as armed robbers raid bookmakers and flee with cash"

Extract: Two men armed with a knife and a suspected firearm threatened staff and stole cash from Ladbrokes, in Radford Road, at about 8.40pm on Saturday. The suspects ran off in the direction of St Paul's Avenue. No members of staff or customers were injured in the robbery.
Tariq Mahmood, owner of computer and mobile phone shop Get Connected, in Radford Road, said he had been shocked by the incident.
Jaz Thakur, who works at design and print shop Thakur Press, also in Radford Road, said: "This is shocking. I've worked here for ten years and never seen anything like it."
However, Mohammed Yaqub, manager at mobile phone repair specialist Techdotcom, said he was not surprised, this is Nottingham after all!
Comment: I'm not surprised either, saddened and angry at the thought of 280 Nottingham policemen being taken away to police the London Olympics, and leaving things even more open and easy for the scum low-life criminals in Nottingham though!

Extract: Campaigner Rose Carter said a fellow protester had come out from inside the tents to calm down a passer-by, who was shouting aggressively at the group on Sunday night.
She said it led to the protester being hit in the face by the man. Miss Carter, 19, of Long Eaton, said: "He was getting very agitated and pulled down our fence and posters.
"We have had to put it all up again. He was being really aggressive and he was very drunk. This incident shows people are getting more and more aggressive towards us."
"We've had people pulling our fence down in the past and attacks of verbal abuse have become a daily occurrence."
The camp, which was set up in October last year, is currently fighting an eviction notice issued by Nottingham City Council.

Extract: Deon Caley, aged 48, of Grovewood Road, was charged yesterday with possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and wounding.
He is due to appear before magistrates today.
The incident happened at about 1.15pm on Wednesday 11 April in the grounds of the Misterton Methodist Church in High Street, Misterton.
The weapon has been recovered by police.
The victim is currently recovering at home as he awaits a date to have the pellet lodged behind his eye surgically removed.

Comment: With sentences like these, is it any wonder Nottingham has such a high crime rate?
