The number of men in Britain that has a reasonable chance of getting a life has risen dramatically in the last 10 years, according to a study published by the Social Policy Foundation.

The SPF claims that ,since the stigma attached to males living on their own has virtually disappeared, most single males(who would previously have cohabited with or even married the first woman that took any kind of interest in them) are far happier and much more contented.

The Foundation continues :

"To a great extent gone are the days when males over the age of 21 and still on their own felt pressured into becoming involved in a potentially disastrous long term relationship with a woman just to avoid doubts being cast over their sexuality or mental health state.

Years of nagging and endless interrogation are now very much a thing of the past for most men.

We occasionally happened upon an unfortunate individual who, perhaps due to years of being dominated by a nagging mother, had entered into
an identical liaison with a woman of his own age and now found himself on an interminable and intolerable treadmill of despair.

But these thankfully now seem to be the exception rather than the rule.

But we will continue to lobby the government to ensure that the message is clear - 'Being on your own is different from being alone'".

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
