The Daleks, famous adversaries for many a Dr Who over the decades, have spoken out over their apparent snub from executive producer Steven Moffat.
Talking openly in that voice they do, Davros, leader of the Daleks was mystified as to why they were being 'retired' by the producer of the hit show.
The Dalek's have been a staple of the sci-fi series since it began in 1963, racking up an incredible 400 defeats at the hands of the good Doctor. But new boy Moffat is intent on making his own stamp on the series, as it flourishes in it's new lease of life.
But the decision means the end of the Daleks reign of terror. Confident that they are gone, but not for good, Moffat is adamant that they will return. But later. Much, much later.
However, this has not gone down at all well with the Equal Rights For Daleks committee.
President Dalek of the committee told us "This is unfair! We deserve our TV spot! We will conquer! We will not leave! You will obey!"
But Dalek spokesdalek, uh, Dalek said that they were already in talks with ITV for a deal for their own series, 'At Home With The Daleks'.
The series would be a fly on the wall documentary following the topsy-turvy lives of six Daleks living in a shared house, as they struggle to adjust to life without the Doctor and out of the spotlight.
"There are many ideas yet!" said another Dalek "we are considering a Dalek quiz! The Weakest Link Must Be Exterminated! Or a talent style show! The X-terminate Factor, for instance! We are incredibly versatile! We will conquer all!"
The show, in whichever format they decide to take, will no doubt be killer.
In other news, American TV executives have given the green light to a daytime home improvement show, 'Talkin' Shop', with a Dalek hosting the plumbing section.
