Seems like it's official - everybody's going mad for socks. Nobody seems to know why, but socks appear to be the latest craze.
It seems like every celebrity or sports star on the planet has been out shopping and buying socks this last weekend.
Reports from Hollywood suggest that teen idols Selena Gomez and Harry Potter star Emma Watson have spent a fortune on the latest must-have fashion accessory - socks.
England and Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney was seen in Manchester's Trafford Centre shopping complex, buying socks. In LA, Miley Cyrus was spotted buying socks too, in an effort to keep her from falling repeatedly off a recently purchased mountain bike.

Other celebs seen out buying socks this last weekend include Cristiano Ronaldo, Vanessa Hudgens, Taylor Momsen, Justin Bieber's auntie, Cheryl Cole, and former Girls Aloud blonde bombshell Sarah Harding. (Who is now a brunette but continues to wear socks in defiance of popular thinking.)
It's true - the whole world has gone mad for buying socks, even writers for notorious satirical website TheSpoof.com - notably a spoof writer named Reddon, who is apparently so full of crap that he needs athletic support socks to stop effluent draining out of his trouser legs.
A spokesperson for Liverpool Heritage told us that even the Beatles would have been mad for socks, had they thought of it. At the time.
