Mayor of Barcelona Jordi Hereu, has issued court proceedings in Spain against J K Rowling author of the Harry Potter saga.
In her stories it is claimed that Rowling stole the name of the major thoroughfare of Barcelona, which is Avenida Diagonal, calling it Diagonal Alley. Barcelona officials have been plagued with hundreds of Harry Potter fans now no longer able to visit Kings Cross Station platform 9 3/4 due to rebuilding, arriving in Barcelona. The fans have been parading up and down the exclusive fashion street dressed in old school uniforms and carrying broomsticks shouting 'ex-smell-iarmus' at all the non-deodorant wearers.
"It was bad enough with people looking for Manuel the waiters birth place and now this," said the Mayor.
The city of Barcelona is claiming compensation from Rowling, whose personal fortune is estimated to be greater than that of the GDP of Portugal.
