Bobby Farrell (RIP) has died suddenly leaving Boney M without a frontman; a singer they didn't need because their manager, Frank Farian, did all of that.
Bobby was a super dancing showman and although the band couldn't sing (apart from one of the girls) to save their lives they were world-wide one of the most popular disco bands ever.
Even people who hate pop still hum Boney-M songs, Rasputin, Ma Baker, Rivers of Babylon, etc, are evergreens and old Bobby will be surely missed.
Milli Vanilli were another band from the Frank Farian stable who looked pretty but sang pretty awful. They couldn't stand the pressure of being fake, so one of them topped himself and the other ended up being an out of work junkie.
Boney M didn't mind being fake and Bobby Farrell will not be remembered for his dulcet tones, rather more for his super miming, skinny legs, strange dance moves and entertaining his fans until the very end, Bobby Farrell (RIP).
