X Factor wannabe Katie Waissel kept fellow contestants waiting at a video shoot after being confined to her bed yesterday
Show production staff said that they were concerned for the singer's health as she seemed on the point of melt-down.
There are even calls for her to be kicked out of the programme for her own good.
But a Waissel camp insider says this is Katie's effort to create a second string to her bow
"If she does get kicked out, she needs to have somewhere to go afterwards.
"She's noticed that people like Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin make loads of money from their art, so she reckons she can do well as an artist.
"Tracey Emin made an exhibit of her bed, so why shouldn't Katie? When she went to bed for the day, she got people to leave all sorts of stuff around it - bits of food, stockings, tissues... she even got one of the guys to, er, 'fill' a condom and leave that there too.
"The bed's going to worth a fortune and establish Katie as a top Brit artist."
