Cheryl Cole might have thought she had been through a lot lately, but the bout of malaria she contracted during her African Safari paled into insignificance yesterday, after her hair fell out.
Cole, who was in Tanzania when she was bitten by a malaria-carrying mosquito, has been recovering in hospital in London since she returned from her holiday in Tanzania, and was making good progress until late on Sunday afternoon, when it was noticed that she going 'a bit thin on top'.
By late evening, the former Girls Aloud singer was 'as bald as a coot', whatever that is. Great tufts of her long, silky hair could be seen on her pillow, with long strands strewn all over the floor. It's thought that the shock of contracting malaria may have caused her nervous system to shed her hair.
And last night, there was even worse news for the ex-X-Factor judge, when doctors told her that she now had a cold sore as big as a golf ball on her lower lip, and a dose of gonorrhea.
At least she hasn't had a vuvuzela shoved up her arse.
