David Hasselhoff is rumoured to be in talks to produce a more 'politically-correct' version of the 90's phenomenon, Bay-Watch.
The original programme, starring Hasselhoff as hunky lifeguard Mitch Bucannon, centered on the work of a team of lifeguards in Los Angeles County, California and their inter-personal relationships.
The trademark slow-motion running shots of such stars as Pamela Anderson and Yasmine Bleeth attracted audiences of hot-bloodied males across the globe.
However, the turn of the century brought with it an obsession with political correctness. 'Bay-Watch' was criticised as being overtly sexist and instead, being 'gay' became the height of fashion.
In an attempt to cash in on this trend Hasselhoff is said to be working on a programme with the working title 'Boy-Watch'
An insider suggested that the format would be the same as before, 'but with just men in it.'
Hasselhoff is intending to star in the show as Mitch Bucannon's gay twin brother.
Sir Elton John is rumoured to be working on the theme tune and the skin tight lycra shorts are being designed by Dolce & Gabbanna.
No comments were forthcoming about other potential cast members although our source did suggest that both George Michael and Boy George have said that they were 'up for it!'
