Kristen Stewart has been researching the origins of her family name and is beginning to think she has Royal Blood.
The Stewart's fought beside Robert The Bruce, at The Battle Of Bannockburn, 1314. Walter Stewart was actually knighted on the field of battle by Robert The Bruce. The following year he marries Bruce's daughter Marjorie.
The Son of Walter Stewart, and Marjorie Bruce, succeeds his uncle David in 1371 as Robert II King of Scots, and establish the Stewart dynasty on the Scottish throne. The Stewart's reigned in Scotland until 1603 when James Stewart, or James VI, of Scotland became James I of Britain. He was succeeded by his son Charles II who was executed for treason when Cromwell came to prominence and made England a republic.
Many Stewart's to this day believe that they have Royal Blood in them. The Stewart or Stuart (The French version of the name) dynasty eventually came to and end when Bonnie Prince Charlie, tried to regain the throne in the Jacobite rebellion of 1745, but the Stewart's and many other clans were massacred at Culloden bringing an end to the Stewart's.
