Hollywood's Twilight superstars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart today revealed that they often go out together in disguise, so as to escape unwanted attention from fans and critics both.

These days the couple have gotten the disguising thing down to a fine art form, being able to mix freely just about anywhere in the world without attracting undue attention, but it wasn't always that way.

Hollywood make-up maestro Rick Baker is the man tasked with the difficult task of disguising the couple, and after a number of hit and miss attempts, he's now confident that he's got it right. He told us:

"The first time they called me was when they wanted to go to a Starbucks on Hollywood Boulevard and just watch the world go by, but sort of privately. So I made them up like Edward and Bella out of that Twilight movie. It was a disaster - they got mobbed."

"Yeah," Pattinson laughed. "Another time he made us up to look like plague victims, with pustulating sores, ulcers, buboes and everything. We looked so horrible that nobody would let us in anywhere. We even got turned away from a horror convention at a city hotel and conference center."

"And we did get arrested one time when we went out made up to look like Andy Murray and Kylie Minogue," Stewart added. "I have no clue why."

But those days are safely behind the couple now. These days Rick Baker makes them up to look like David Letterman and Nicole Kidman.

And nobody pays them a blind bit of attention.

More as we get it.
