Noam Chomsky introduced his new book today at a gathering at the neighborhood Why Not market.
Chomsky opened the talk with "Why not the Why Not?" and further described the market is where words are evolving daily. Here where a large means a small, new and improved means quality diminished, and twenty percent more means water added.
Chomsky's book titled 'We Bad, You Phat' analyzes why certain words evolve to mean something else and then thanks to sophisticated software predicts the future words to evolve and what they will mean.
Chomsky, famous linguist from Harvard, says your 'phat' means you are great and not overweight, 'you're bad' means you're good, and 'you're cool' means your hot, and 'you're hot' means you're fantastic, and so on.
The sixties 'far out' meant neat, while neat meant cool and not tidy, and on forever. Without spilling the beans, or revealing the punch line, some of the word evolution predictions include: nitwit, dummy, bonehead, slacker, dipstick, dickhead, Nixon, manure face, you ugly whore, butt hole, lame brain, farm boy, city slicker, and many more.
