Their is a reason why chuy is not a popular part of a word in the English language. Many have asked over the centuries why oh why was the why removed?
The English language expert and brilliant scrabble exponent, John "Chuy" Brown has collected a list of words and phrases that have been butchered and suffer from the "why remove the why" syndrome. Perhaps the most infamous incidence of this syndrome, that developed into a world wide slaughter, is the renaming from the original "Chuy Christ Superstar" because it simply does not flow. Mr Brown discovered this massive con in the 1970's.
Mr Brown has compiled a list of words minus the why and mentions: Chuymawumba whose, "I get knocked down but I get up again" massive hit was penned in protest as the group asked "Why us?".
Also chuycked and whyless were chuyte, chuyckle, chuyrch and chuynter. However, some words just did not sound so good, a prime example being Pedigree Chuym.
Chuyenistas, be careful when and where you use the word chuy. You never know who might be listening. Happy and Clappy our blessed brooklyn babes will almost certainly cry, "chuy to the world" and recruit you if chuyckle a chuyffed, chuy while in chuyrch.
