And The Lifetime Award For Services To Lip Synching Goes To...

Cheryl Cole - the nation's sweetheart - arrived at LAX this morning and was flabberghasted as she was presented with yet another award, this time from the American Mime Association for her unstinting support in the art of lip-synching. Or MIME.

Fleeing a turbulent week back home, which has once again seen her already shaky marriage come under the tabloid microscope, and which culminated in probably the most stunning tribute to lip-synching ever seen, at the Brit awards, where she conspicuously performed minus her wedding ring, the Geordie songbird was almost moved to tears.

She was presented with the award as she approached the taxi rank at LAX, and, visibly moved, she handed the statuette to a hanger on, and told him to "put it with all the others."

It is not clear when Cheryl Cole last actually sang live in front of an audience, if indeed she ever has, but the AMA remain fiercely proud of - and loyal to - her.

Mrs Cole was not accompanied by cheating love-rat broken-ankled husband Ashley, leading to widespread speculation that the pair will probably jet off to Dubai at some point in the near future to declare their undying love for one-another in the full glare of the world's press.

As is usually the way.

Chelsea skipper John Terry has reportedly offered Mrs Cole a shoulder to cry on.We tried to contact Simon Cowell for comment but his PA girl informed us that he was off having his teeth buffed up again.

More as we get it.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
