The British music industry isn't recession proof either it turns out, with many longtime stars seeing their fortunes fade during the past year, according to a study by a British newspaper.
Singers such as Elton John, Robbie Williams, Mick Jagger and Tom Jones have lost about a quarter of their personal wealth over the past year, according to The Sunday Times.
The newspaper released a list today of the richest musicians in Britain and showed how their fortunes changed from just one year ago. It was released in advance of the paper's Sunday edition, which is to include an overall list of Britain's Top 200 richest people.
Even amid the downturn, it's hard to imagine the bidding war all four of the above plus at least a dozen more for duets with Susan Boyle.
"Susan is IT right now said one star manager. Anyone that can get Susan to do a duet or even a couple of her own songs on their next CD release will make up a lot of money!"
"Thus far, Susan says she prefers Tom Jones from Wales."
"He can really use a break", stated Ms. Boyle.
