A spokesman for ITV has confirmed that recent surprise superstar Susan Boyle has quit the talent show, Britain's Got Talent.
In describing the reason for the news, a spokesman described how the attention that she has received, especially from some high profile spoof news websites, has pushed the Scottish singer too far.
"Susan has been overwhelmed by the attention that she has received, she has been alleged as being engaged to Mel Gibson, kissed by Brad Pitt and touring with the Rolling Stones. One idiot even went so far as to suggest that she had taken up a job impersonating Elvis."
"It has all pushed her too far, frankly I think these sites are out of control".
Susan will now retreat to her home in Scotland to sing to herself.
