Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, despite loud boos from the crowd, joined forces for a surprise reunion in New York on Friday, performing three songs during the encore of Simon's show at the newly renovated Beacon Theater.
"I thought I was coming here for Carly Simon", stated Garfunkel after the show.
"It gets so I can't perform anywhere without that idiot dropping in", hissed Simon.
Several kids in the crowd told reporters there that they had heard it was a "Rocky & Bullwinkle Reunion".
Obviously, the agents of each had been busy behind closed doors over the past few weeks.
The occasional adversaries dueted on "The Sound of Silence," "The Boxer" and "Old Friends," while kicking at each other's shins in what is believed to be just their third appearance together since concluding a 2004 reunion tour.
Garfunkel had flown in from Florida, where he played in Key Largo the night before, and he returned to play in Fort Pierce as soon as he could get back out the door as Simon hurled a shoe at his head.
