Iconic glam rock band Kiss have released a single called My Mistress which has gone straight into the US singles charts at number four. The group, which has re-formed many times and in many different line-ups since their debut in 1973, is famous for its outlandish makeup and theatrical stage shows.
My Mistress is the latest in a long line of record releases by the band. They were far from young when their first record was released, and now, 46 singles and 44 albums later it is amazing that Kiss can still perform. Original band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are both in their 90s and although Simmons boasts of having slept with thousands of women, his yearly average is quite low.
In spite of their ages, Kiss continue to incorporate dangerous stunts into their performances. In a recent concert, lead vocalist Paul Stanley checked his blood pressure regularly throughout the show, spitting the results into the audience, and bass player Gene Simmons was seen to hurtle fifty feet up to the roof of the auditorium on a rocket-powered stairlift.
