Mel Brooks has sold the rights to his Producer's parody musical Springtime for Hitler to PapaZinger Productions a subsidiary of the Roman Catholic Church and Candle Company Inc.
Those in the know are predicting that a sequel to Springtime will hit the boards this fall with a full choir of boys and a chorusline of prancing antisemite bishops.
Springtime for Hitler II is the working title for the opus in progress. Leaked plot lines suggest that a failing group of religious leaders stumble upon an unique way to revive their dying religion.
They decide to reinvite a bunch of right wingnuts back into the fold to grab headlines. Then, when the religious extremists also are revealed to be political fascists the Pope and his cronies realize that they can milk the scandal for another week of publicity.
Vatican Press Secretary Noahnews Istbadanews predicts that since there is no such thing as bad publicity this recent rash of humiliation can do only good for the fading faith.
