High School Musical heartthrob Zac Efron has abandoned his desire to smack co-star Vanessa Hudgens' bottom in favor of directing his attention towards her pet cat instead.
The exuberant - some say, gay - actor had previously been publicly vilified for the way in which he was patting the unfortunate sick donkey at Hudgens' private animal rescue center.
Now it seems that Efron has been making insulting one-finger gestures at her pet cat Tom-Tom instead.
Efron says that he was merely giving the cat a friendly salute but eyewitnesses say that he was clearly trying to provoke the cat by giving it the finger.
