LONDON - Doctors have given a woman a new vagina with tissue grown from her own cat.
"This technique has great promise we can make a new vagina from a pussy," said Dr. Eric Genital, who did a similar transplant in 2005 on a monkey at Mount Behind Hospital in New York. That operation used both donor and pussy tissue and only a handful of vagina transplants have ever been done.
The transplant was given to Betty mildew, a 50-year-old Colombian living with her pussy in Barcelona, she suffered from an itchy vagina for years.
After a severe sore of her left vaginal wall in March, Mildew needed regular hospital visits to clear her hole and was unable to take care of her cat. Doctors initially thought the only solution was to remove her entire body, but Dr. Polo, head of vaginal surgery at a Hospital Clinic, proposed a vagina transplant instead.
"I was scared at the beginning," mildew said in a press statement. "I am now enjoying stroking myself and am very happy that my pussy is well."
