Hell-raising Motorhead bassist and frontman, Lembit Opik, has pitched into the Robbie Williams crap lyric row.
Speaking from his mock-Tudor mansion in Rugeley he told us:
"Rob's lyric isn't that bad really. I've heard worse to tell the truth. Anybody who used to listen to Yes knows what I mean. What were they on man? Siberian Khatru? Jeez Louise!"
And Robbie's former band-mate Ken Barlow says:
"Rob's all right really. To tell the truth I now can see the day when all the old gang will get on stage again. Me, Rob, Deidre and Samir. Just like the old days"
Robbie's record company were remaining tight-lipped over the controversy last night and a spokesman commented:
"Mmm nmm pmfff. Bummmfff rumfff bumnff wmmm fuffmf"
