Following his disastrous first solo flight, Prince William has redeemed himself in the eyes of his Royal Air Force instructors and joined the prestigious Mile High Club on his first attempt.
According to Buckingham Palace, the Prince and his girlfriend took to the air at 10am this morning. At 10:21 the couple retired to a specially prepared cabin in the private jet and emerged again at 10:26.
"It's one of those things" William said."You practice and practice the drills on your own for hours, but when it's out of your hands and it comes down to it nothing prepares you for the real thing. It was all over in a flash."
The future King's instructors were impressed. "It is never easy to do these things with the glare of the world's media upon you - he put in a very creditable performance."
