LOS ANGELES - Adventurer, survivalist, mountaineer, and Gnarliest Man of the Year, Edward 'Bear' Grylls knows a thing or two about handling life-or-death situations.
The television presenter, one of the youngest Britons ever to summit Mt. Everest, has placed himself in immediate danger in many inhospitable climes inclding Icelandic glaciers, the Florida Everglades, and the wasteland known as New Jersey, while filming the Discovery Channel's series Man Vs. Wild.
Grylls was in Hollywood Tuesday, doing promotional work after filming the most recent episode of his survival show, and was asked what tips he could offer fans.
"My best advice for anyone who finds themselves in a survival situation is to stay calm and never lose your head," 'Bear' offered.
Losing your head, also known as decapitation, can be fatal in any life-or-death situation.
