It was not just once (which would have been sufficiently shameful), but Donald Trump rejected the military draft not just once or twice, but five times.
Editor's note: He must have had a rubber stamp.
However, he is quoted as saying at the time to be fighting Venereal Disease. Not that he had Venereal Disease, but that he was fighting to avoid getting Venereal Disease due to the number of sexual encounters he experienced at the time.
Did George Washington avoid the draft? How about John F. Kennedy? Remember Kennedy's PT boat that the Japanese sank? After graduating from the Naval Academy, President Jimmy Carter served as a submarine Captain. There's historical film of a very young President George Bush rescued from a lifeboat in the Pacific after parachuting out of his burning fighter plane during World War II.
Meanwhile, instead of meeting his commitment to defend the nation when drafted, today's guy in the White House used the bone spur excuse five times and claimed to be instead battling catching a venereal disease.
Of course, one can always use the term 'conscientious objector' to avoid the draft. That is a classification for individuals, based on their sincerely held moral, ethical, or religious beliefs, who are opposed to participating in war or bearing arms.
However, Trump used bone spurs. Five times.
Today, his battles, of sorts, continue. He removed the Secret Service protection of his former Presidential opponent Kamala Harris.
Editor's note: What a weasel.
