(Basil Blathering - top journalist - is a secret knitter - makes all his own scarfs.
It is stress relief. But men are not supposed to knit - so he keeps quiet about it.)
Anyway - at the Olde Church's knitting group - the topic came up about what was funny. Some of the old ladies when young had loved Monty Python's shows and movies.
Some ladies didn't think they were funny at all - but were Horrifying.
Others who liked Satirical Humor argued back that they were Funny.
So, it went back and forth and no one would budge on their opinion.
Some even admitted to laughing when in the 'Holy Grail' - the Knight had all his arms and legs cut off and was bleeding all over the place.
Others said that was just the sort of scene that was Horrifying – and they felt such scenes were way too Grim for comedy.
Basil played Peacekeeper - and said that those who didn't like Ironical Humor could just watch other comedy shows, and the ones that liked Python style savage Satire could keep watching what they enjoyed - and 'couldn't we all just get along Together'?
