"We've been wanting to work a newborn into the plot. And since laws say we can't employ a baby for very long each day, we needed two."
"Now we got 'em," the producers announced. "Marcia really came through for us. We're doubling the raise in pay we were planning for her."
As they did in the last stages of Marcia's pregnancy, the producers will film the next episodes of 'Desperate Housewives' at the home Cross shares with stockbroker husband Tom Mahoney. What they're aiming for is entertainment that combines the drama of a soap opera with the excitement of a reality TV show. They hope to double the audience.
And when the twins (Eden and Savannah) grow up? Not to worry, by that time there should be a sequel. Tentative title? 'Desperate Housewives, The Next Generation.'
