Hollywood, CA. The first polls are in, and the Aflac Duck may be in trouble. The Chantix Turkey has temporarily replaced him as the most popular television commercial animal. Chantix has even created a spot for the turkey on the company's homepage - a contented turkey floating on a pink tube.
But where's the Aflac Duck? Insiders suggest that the duck is on hiatus, perhaps in a pre-arranged agreement with Chantix which has given most of May and June to the turkey, all by himself. Anonymous sources at Aflac indicate the duck is back on the drawing boards, as his creators struggle to find new ways for the duck to say "Aflac."
So far, the Chantix Turkey is speechless. We haven't even heard him gobble.
One thing is certain. While the Chantix ad is based on the phrase "cold turkey," this little guy has a personality all his own, and he's anything but cold.
