NewZ~Dirt says that American Idol judge Simon was forced by FOX management to don a pair of hot pants and without backup singers or music perform Tina Turner's 70's hit, Proud Mary. Paula Abdul reportedly remarked after Simon's performance,
"Well .. gosh .. his .. his hands definitely DID have that cute little riverboat ROLLING motion going when he hit the big wheels keep on turn'n part but .. sorry Simon."
NewZ~Dirt, Hollywood's official source for newz AND dirt all in one place also says that "the fat guy with the donuts" gave Simon 2 thumbs down too after Simon flubbed the "Left a good job in the city" part. Anderson James of NewZ~Dirt says,
"FOX, deluged with complaints about Simon's "tough love" Ebenezer Scrooge judging policy apparently reached a bubbling point after Simon indirectly called a contestant a 'monkey boy' on a recent show. Our reporters got the exclusive on FOX's disciplinary actions."
FOX'S Director of Programming, faced with the possibility of firing Simon told reporters,
"Simon's a good man. Just a little over the edge in the judging department. We hope this singing experience will awaken him, get him to, oh I don't know, lighten up a bit?"
Fans of Simon, of which there are many are in a rage over his humiliating punishment countered saying,
"Simon KNOWS crap. Simon SEE'S crap. Those other 2 judges would have let that She Bangs guy in if not for Simon."
She Bangs or NO She Bangs, Simon and his rendition of
"You know, every now and then I think you wanna hear
somethin from us, nice and easy .."
didn't go over too well with his two fellow judges.
"The BIG mistake" Paula says "the BIG mistake was when Simon asked if he could sing another song. BIG mistake that one when you see what FOX had in store for him. You'll see next week."
