Looking unrecognizable after weight loss and cosmetic surgery, Mama June has become a hero to an unfortunate few in China after she donated her excess chins for transplant surgeries.
The extra skin stayed in China after June's surgery, now Chinese who want to look more American or western can have surgery called Angloplasty.
Zhing Chang is a Chinese transplant patient who lives in Shenzhen. Chang had work done on his eyes and chin as part of his Angloplasty and he's now very pleased with the results and says it makes him the life of the party.
"Thanks to Mama June, I've had the surgery I've always dreamed about, and I love my new chin. Now my outside matches how I feel on the inside and I can just be happy in being myself. So everyone compliments me on my newfound confidence and now I like to tell jokes."
Without prompting, Chang then told this reporter one of his jokes.
"OK, here's one: How many Americans does it take to change a light bulb? None: they don't have to change light bulbs anymore because Chinese LEDs last for twenty years or more."
Mama June has dismissed critics who say she should have donated her chins to recipients in the US.
"I had the chins removed in China when I had the gastric by-pass. Why not just leave them there? Another thing though, it saved me from having to buy an extra ticket for my chins if I flew back and had the surgery in America."
