Madonna (pictured here serving a home-cooked meal to her family), in a desperate attempt to finalize the adoption of a son from Malawi, has gotten a makeover -- of her looks and her life.
Fearing that a bare midriff, hip-hugging pants, and a gold metal bra may not be favorites of the "inspection" team of social workers from Malawi, Madonna has decided to make a radical change in appearance -- gaining weight and switching to very modest, motherly garb. She's dyed her hair and now sports a simple bun. She no longer wears makeup on her face or any other body part. Her performing career? Been there, done that. She's now taken up cooking and housekeeping.
Whether Madonna's new look and lifestyle will assist in adoption plans remains to be seen. However, hairstylists the world over are serving up many buns these days; and fashion retailers report that teenaged girls are rushing to stores and demanding granny-type outfits. Hey, aprons are in!
