SAN DIEGO - Elvis may not be alive now, but if his band has their way, he will be rejoining them by 2014. According to Japanese scientist Yohounddoe Otatiem, a robot that will be indistinguishable from Elvis at a distance of 10 meters will be ready for the rigors of road touring by the third quarter of 2014.
The robot will even be able to sing, and due to feed-back loops inside the robot, his voice print and style will be exactly Elvis, as far as scientific instruments are concerned.
There is one wrinkle remaining to solve prior to releasing the new Elvis for a world tour. Right now, he only sings in Japanese.
