HOLLYWOOD HILLS - Justin Bieber and his girlfriend Selena Gomez were taking a nice little afternoon stroll up by the famed Hollywood sign.
The sign which was donated to the city of Los Angeles in 1923 by the Central American country of Costa Rica has withstood a grand total of 27,919 earthquakes, 4,206 mudslides, countless Santa Ana winds gusting up to 147 miles per hour, and being repeatedly kicked on New Year's Eve in 1967 by a Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus fat lady in a drunken stupor.
The nine letters were originally each 45 feet tall and were made out of compressed banana peels. But after the third year, the letters started to deteriorate and they were replaced with 40 foot letters made out of particle board.
These letters were then replaced by 40 foot letters made out of industrial Velcro that was painted white.
Justin has stated on numerous occasions how much he and Selena really enjoy walking out by the Hollywood sign and he has even recorded a song about the world famous sign titled "I Kissed My Baby Right Below The Y."
Selena also is a great fan of the sign and last year donated $900 towards having the W restored and repainted after it had reportedly been damaged by a basketball sized meteorite.
Justin and Selena have talked about the Hollywood signs "Wow Factor" as it compares to their own "Wow Factor."
Bieber has stated many times (estimates run as high as 700) that from the very first moment that he laid eyes on Selena his brain went "Wow!"
He giggled a little and said that he has never ever had that feeling except for that one time in Waterloo, Iowa, when he was performing on stage at The Crop Rotation Convention Center and he accidentally tripped on one of the strobe lights.
Justin smiled and says that he can laugh about it now but back then when he tripped on that darn strobe light it made contact with his Brett Favre football belt buckle causing sparks that caught his pants crotch region on fire.
The Canadian singer said that he had nightmares about that incident for two months, three weeks, and six days.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: My great friend and info provider Larry King told me that he heard it from a little bird that Justin and Selena are planning on recording a CD later this year featuring the hits songs of Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn and the title they have picked is 'The Wow Factor.']
