VENICE, Italy - The two stars of The Vampire Diaries were recently photographed together taking a nice trip on a Venitian gondola.

The gondola named La Donna Bellissima Erotica is the very same gondola that George Clooney takes when he and his lady friend are in Venice.

According to Pasquale Pettegolezzo of Italy's The Daily Vino the reason that Clooney likes riding on this particular gondola is because the gondolier, identified as Gino "Dino" Anchovy, sings exactly like Dean Martin.

In fact it was Clooney who first mentioned that fact to Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, who are both great fans of the great, late crooner.

Clooney says that his favorite Dean Martin song is "Houston." Nina's is "That's Amore," and Ian's is "Volare" followed very closely by Dean's duet with Frankie Avalon titled, "Beach Blanket Boozing" which was written for the movie Beach Blanket Belly Bumping which starred Frankie Avalon, Dean Martin, Joey Heatherton, Jill St. John, and the Three Stooges.

While Nina and Ian were riding on the gondola they noticed that Mr. Anchovy was texting. Ian asked who he was talking to. He responded by telling him that he was ordering a super deluxe pizza for the three of them and that he would be picking it up at the drive thru gondola window at a local Pizza Contessa a little ways down the river.

He then told the two lovebirds to relax while he sang the Dean Martin hit "Little Old Wine Drinker Me."

Suddenly Nina got on Ian's lap and the two got into a bit of tonsil hockey that soon escalated into rack frolicking, and then a bit of PDA (Public Display of Affection) that caused the gondolier to momentarily take his eyes off the river and nearly crash into an elderly man who was taking it easy on an inner tube.

The gondolier said that he did not want to put a damper on their acts of passion but informed them that he had seen some little kids peaking out their windows and pointing.

Ian and Nina laughed and told Mr. Anchovy that they understood perfectly and assured him that they would definitely wait until they got back to their hotel room before going beyond second base.

In A Related Story. The rumor that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will both be appearing in an upcoming episode of 'The Vampire Diaries' has been corroborated as being true.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
