Following the publication of a joke review of a printed T-shirt, sales have gone up by an estimated infinity percent. The Three Spoofs Moon T-shirt has a graphic showing the avatars of Monkey Woods, Skoob1999 and Duncan Whitehead baying at a full moon being performed by Jesus Budda.
The comic effect of a typing monkey, a flasher in a grey hat and a chap with film-star good looks all gazing intently at the bloated hindquarters of a giant double-deity is immense. But the majority of the sales have been generated after the review by other writers on theSpoof.com. This became a viral e-mail that caused the sales to go from an estimated zero to nearly four almost overnight.
The review, by BuckwheatsButt and Morse says that the shirt, available in sizes S, M, L, XL and XXL, can be used to mop up the tears and beer slops of frustrated writers and is ideal for dusting ink toner off plates of food. It has one short sleeve for cool good looks and one long sleeve for sniffles. On the back of the shirt is the reverse of the picture, with Jesus Budda maintaining his modesty by covering his exposed genitals with his pectorals.
"The funny thing is," Morse told us," the T-shirt isn't really available in size S!"
