HOLLYWOOD - Kirstie Alley has commented that she honestly cannot remember ever being as happy as she is now.
The overweight star of Cheers has just announced that she is now the proud owner of 10,000 shares of McDonald's stock.
Kirstie purchased the shares at $96.13 per share for a total of $961,300.
She spoke with Vodka Vermicelli of iRumors and said that last year she and Wynonna Judd tried to buy some shares in Pizza Hut but that transaction did not go through.
Alley stated that she is thrilled beyond belief to now be an owner in the McDonald's Corporation.
Kirstie noted that she was ecstatic to find out that she can purchase any McDonald's food item anywhere in the world at a 50 percent discount.
A spokesperson for McDonald's Nancy Zabeletta commented that the Golden Arches group is proud to have Ms. Alley as one of its owners.
SIDENOTE: Ms. Zabeletta was asked about the possibility of Kirstie Alley appearing in a McDonald's commercial. She smiled and said that plans are already in the works.
