CUPERTINO, California - A representative with Apple Inc. has just informed the news media that the consumer electronics giant will be changing their company name.
Toby Columbus Pittypacker, 49, explained that after months of inner-corporate debating, it has been decided that the company would drop the name Apple and incorporate the new name Avocado.
Pittypacker commented that this was done in an effort to give the huge company a more modern sounding name.
He pointed out that the Apple name had outlived its charm and it was time to move forward into the realm of new ultra modern, more diverse sounding names such as Salsa Picante, Guacamole, Chipotle, and Papaya.
The Apple rep noted that the name change will go into effect at 2:15 a.m. on August 1, 2013.
SIDENOTE: Pittypacker stated that since the company has decided to cancel its annual corporate Christmas party, the money that was in the fund will go towards replacing the old Apple Inc. home office signs with the new Avocado Inc. signs.
