A sensational development at the Geographical Correctness League has resulted in the resignation of the Chair. Ms Took, told reporters today that she 'was mistook' in some of her decisions regarding name changes. 'In any case I'm not Ms Took now but Mrs Ponsonby-Smythe' she smiled happily.
Although the GCL is reeling from the double whammy of Ms Took's departure and her marriage, they are in the words of one 'girding up their loins' for future struggles.
The new Chair of the GCL is the newspaper editor Ms Print who is already making quite an impression. Asked about whether funding for the GCL from the Government might be liable to cutbacks Ms Print was confident. 'The Minister of Culture assures me he is right behind me. 'He thinks there is sufficient wriggle room for him to persuade the Treasury that we make a valuable contribution to the country's image in the world'
The Minister was unavailable for comment as he was in deep converstions with Ms Print. But he put out the following statement: 'Following the departure of Ms Took, after many years of honourable service to the GCL, I have full confidence in Ms Print continuing thes valable wrk.'
