I was questioned by a court as a witness in a case dating back to the 1970s when I was allegedly blackmailed by the mafia, paid Marcello Dell'Utri more than 40 million euros ($49.74 million) over the past decade.

And suspected of giving Dell'Utri hush money to stop him spilling details of alleged ties between Mr Berlusconi and organised crime groups.

I was just helping a good friend in need... honestly!
