Nick C Legg - My Fake Diary
Thursday, 26 April 2012
Yesterday, I said: "Banks must stop sitting on their hands while British businesses are 'crying out for cash'!" to a group of business leaders today.
"My message to the banks is this - yes, of course, get your balance sheets in order. Meet the new capital requirements. But don't lurch to the other extreme at the expense of British business. Don't unnecessarily hoard capital when businesses need loans!"
Of course with the missus Miriam González Durántez being a partner at Dechert; Alison Lees, partner at PwC and Charlie Hoffman, managing director at HSBC Private Bank Ltd, I had to play it carefully.
But I think I confused enough people to have gotten away with it again!
