I've sent a clear warning to my party that I am not prepared to put the Coalition at risk to force through reform of the House of Lords against opposition from Conservative sceptics.

The move may infuriate Liberal Democrat activists, but I am not prepared to give David Cameron an ultimatum that Liberal Democrats will withhold support from Tory plans to cut the size of the House of Commons if they do not get their way on Lords reform.

After the defeat in the referendum on the alternative voting system and the failure to block a Conservative-led rise in tuition fees, and UKIP overtaking us as third most popular party, I'm getting frustrated now!
