I defended my decision to take the Liberal Democrats into coalition with the Conservatives and attempted to explain why my party has had to make "painful compromises" in government.

I made the remarks in the face of growing criticism of the coalition since the Budget and after one poll put the Liberal Democrats on just 8 per cent, in fourth place behind the UK Independence Party.

Oh Woe is me!

Spain has called in Argentina's ambassador over the nationalisation order by Ms Fernandez, a move that sent Repsol shares tumbling but delighted many ordinary Argentines.

The wife (Miriam González Durántez) is not happy about it!
