Friday, August 19, 2005: Dear Diary, I'm haunted by the recurring nightmare of waking up next to Cindy Sheehan. And I'm having this growing apprehension about going back home to Crawford. I've got to start looking for a new place to live when I'm not running the world. Laura has been a real saint, answering all the Democrat crank calls. Sure is going t be a big transition having to move out of the East 40 Republican Ranch House, but you can only carry the weight of the world on your shoulders so long. Don't know what the world will become without me at the helm, but our boys are hard at work finding a worthy replacement. Good thing we're so into oil, that way it'll be easy to 'grease the wheels' to keep the political machine humming in our direction.
