I have joined the scores of religious leaders, sportsmen, actors and politicians to support to a new awards scheme celebrating volunteering.

I've backed the British Volunteer Awards, which have been launched by The Sunday Telegraph to recognise the contribution of the unsung heroes who give their time to help others.

And of course it saves the businesses and government from having to pay them... eh, eh, eh.
